Arsenal did put on a display. It was mature and confident. Just what the doctor ordered!
What Arsenal Need: West Brom will try to out-muscle the young Arsenal team, but I hope they stand up to the physical match which awaits them.
Arsenal played well against one of the in-form Championship sides.
Things To Watch Out For: I'm excited to see Merida and Denilson play. It will also be nice to see Senderos continuing his come back.
Apparently Denilson played well, but the good news was Senderos and Clichy both came through the match unscathed and looking strong. Adebayor limped off with a thigh injury after 23 minutes and may struggle to make the squad for the weekend.
Hopes For The Match: My team selection is:
Aliadiere, Baptista
Walcott, Merida, Denilson, Ljungberg
Clichy, Senderos, Connolly, Flamini
Almunia
Eight out of 11 starters wasn't a bad guess and Ljungberg and Baptista are apparently not ready for a match. So in reality my only wrong guess was Merida, who didn't even make the subs bench. Maybe he's injured?
Obviously Ljungberg and Baptista will only participate if fit, but it would be a good opportunity for them to work on their fitness.
Not sure on the fitness of these two.
Long-term issues: These are the games where we get to see the Gunners' hopes for the future.
Aliadiere played well, scoring twice, but I just can't see him breaking into the first team squad. Maybe Wenger will let him go in January?
Prediction: West Brom 0 Arsenal 3
Score: West Brom 0 Arsenal 2
