The Best Players Were On The Pitch

As you can see from the post title, this post corresponds to the one entitled "Getting the Best Players on the Pitch".

Firstly, let me admit that I am not a favourite of the 4-1-4-1 formation that Wenger insists on playing, however I must concede that Arsene knows best. As a result of my dislike for the current Arsenal formation of choice, I predicted two 4-4-2 formations prior to kick-off. Neither was correct for the reasons given below.

Arsenal played with the following formation and personnel:

Henry

van Persie, Gilberto, Fabregas, Flamini, Hleb

Clichy, Gallas, Toure, Eboue

Almunia

Subs: Poom, Senderos, Hoyte, Walcott, Adebayor

When Adebayor came on he wasted a gift of a one-on-one with Reina, where he should have done better.

Van Persie did play well apart from the silly yellow card for a deliberate hand ball. He is a player that excites me and I hope he continues to develop throughout the season as I do believe he could be a 20-goal a season player.

I did beg for Flamini not to be used on the wing and he wasn't, but I admit that he worked very hard in the centre of the park and I was pleased to see him push forward into attacking positions throughout the game.
