Time For Arsenal To Improve At Corners

All season I have been crying out for Arsenal to improve at corners. I published an article on why Arsenal are so poor at corners earlier in the year and Wenger has just comfirmed one of the allegations I made in that article.

I argued that Arsenal hardly ever practicsed corners on the training ground and that it was an area being overlooked by Wenger. Apparently, the obvious has finally sunk in and Wenger has begun to take corners more seriously and said:

"We have worked to make more on our set-pieces, and I hope we will get a bit more out of them," the Gunners boss confirmed.

Against Reading we had 16 corners and we were never dangerous. If you look at who has headed the least goals in the league it is Arsenal.

It's the opposite of our philosophy. I feel with some teams that the game is a training session for headers, for us it is not.

We have to be strong in our game and not count on set-pieces, but maybe we can find a solution with set-pieces, so we have been practising them."

Arsenal do not create enough chances on goal from our own corners and we concede too many from a defensive viewpoint. Time to put in the hours on the training ground I think lads.
